Atelier Tapio Autio

On the southwestern shore of lake Lappajärvi, there is a creative complex, which comprises a sculpture park, a cave with more than 50 rock paintings inspired by Kalevala, a Troll's Castle, a very unique small church, an angels' room and several altars.

In 1995 Tapio Autio decided to build a church of his own, without any help, with his own money and hands. This complex is a result of free time labour of Tapio Autio, whose daily job is being a police officer.

Right outside the building there is a 16 meter high tower built by Tapio himself. From the top there is a breath-taking view over the forests and Lake Lappajärvi.

Unique voyages of experience are offered to travellers and groups. These exuisite premises are also avaliable for rent for different kinds of events and closed meetings. The church is available for marriage ceremonies.
